Smart Work, Safe Work
Learning from Europe's Best Practices and Building an AI-based Ecosystem for Risk Assessment in Europe

The transformation of the labour market presents new challenges for fair and effective labour mobility, the coordination of social security and occupational safety and health – while also paving the way for new opportunities.

Artifical intelligence (AI) and interconnected data structures offer the potential to sustainably improve the safety and health of workers across Europe.

The European Labour Authority (ELA) and the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the building trade (BG BAU) are jointly organizing a conference on:

Smart Work, Safe Work – Learning from Europe's Best Practices and Building an AI-based Ecosystem for Risk Assessment in Europe

18th November 2025, 9:00 – 16:00 (followed by a networking reception until 17:30)

German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV)
Glinkastraße 40, 10117 Berlin, Germany

During this conference, we would like to discuss the current developments in the use of digital tools and artificial intelligence. One important discussion point will be the promotion of digital social identification cards in occupational safety and health.

The conference seeks to establish a network for AI use among EU partner countries and to launch joint initiatives in the coming years to enhance occupational safety and health in Europe.

It is aimed at representatives of social insurance organizations from EU member states, representatives of ELA, as well as representatives from politics, social partners, trade unions, and employers' associations.

We look forward to your participation!
